Nurse Manager required for Level II Trauma Center in North Carolina. This Medical Center is the only Level II trauma and Regional referral center in the surrounding market. Heart Center performs more than 400 surgical procedures and 10k+diagnostic procedures each year. Extremely low turn-over in department!! The 14-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is responsible for the immediate post-operative care of CVOR patients. There is a 7-bed recovery room and a 7-room ICU. The typical stay is 48 hours. The patent population has had complex surgery including CABG, CABG/valve, open and closed thoracic aneurysm repair and video-assisted thoracic surgery. FTE reports: 26 (RN’s, Nurse Aides, Coordinators, Health Unit Clerks). The CVICU Nurse Manager works under the supervision of the Network Director of Cardiac Services. The Manager has 24-hour accountability for patient care provided on the nursing unit and unit operations. The Manager maintains current clinical skills and is competent to support the delivery of care. This position is accountable for staffing, scheduling, managing unit operations, fiscal management and human resource management. The manager will provide input into strategic planning and budget development. The Manager is responsible for customer service excellence. The Manager is responsible for patient outcomes based on best practices and research for patient’s age neonate through geriatric that is appropriate for their developmental stage. The Manager is highly motivated, organized, self-directed, and supports the mission, values and Standards of Performance of the medical center.

Bachelors degree required, BSN preferred; Five years experience as an RN in a CVICU unit and minimum of two years management experience. Salary $80k-100k + 5k relo.

The Perioperative Surgical Director of Nursing will direct Perioperative Services in a 800-bed tertiary care facility. It will oversee 52 ORs to include all of the main ORs & Outpatient Surgery, the 87-bed PACUs and Anesthesia Nursing Services. It will indirectly supervise approximately 350 FTEs and will have 2 Assistant Directors reporting to it. There are eight general surgery services including cardiac, lung, abdominal organ transplant; pediatric and adult trauma; and five subspecialties including Plastics (face and hand transplant), Orthopedics, Otolaryngology and Urology averaging in total 37, 000 cases per year This position is accountable for the quality of nursing care delivered, planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating the nursing service within a functional unit. In addition, the DON is responsible for fiscal management, development of short and long term goals for nursing service, management of nursing personnel, and providing nursing leadership in formulating and implementing functional unit objectives. BSN, MSN and Doctorate required. CNOR preferred. Advanced administrative skills at a level generally acquired through four to seven years of progressively responsible nursing administration experience. Must have prior experience in a tertiary care hospital. Salary $150,000 – $180,000
